Butler-Freeport Trail

All the best photos here were taken by Jada.
This is a rail trail, so it feels pretty level.

This is the only place to park Kelly VI,
yet a long pickup truck was about to
park in front of us which would have
prevented Kelly VI from being able to
leave the lot.  Thankfully we arrived while
the truck was still being parked and the
driver was very kind about moving until
we could get out of the way.

Live Music

Back in Evans City, we got errands done, then decided to relax if we could find some live music as both of us enjoy good music played well, especially if there's an upbeat crowd and some adult libations to lubricate the event.

Great Allegheny Passage

Looking across the Pinkerton High Bridge
into the tunnel.  The Pinkerton Low Bridge
is on the other side of the tunnel.
Having enjoyed this bike ride in the past, we were encouraged to ride this trail again.  I especially like the challenge of traversing the high bridges and the long Pinkerton Tunnel.  We parked Kelly VI in Confluence, PA and rode uphill following the Casselman River.  Of course, that meant our return ride was downhill.  Although, since this is a rail trail, the ride seems pretty flat the entire way.

Lots of great views along the trail.

Looking north from the Pinkerton Low Bridge.

The Pinkerton Bridges are built on the
original railroad bridge pylons.

We celebrated our trail ride with lunch here

Mill Run Camp

After a busy day walking and hiking around Ohiopyle and Fallingwater, we decided to enjoy a quiet, relaxing day walking along Mill Run, a tributary of what is now Youghiogheny Lake.  It is a scenic, beautiful area to hike and wander about.

All the better photos were taken by Jada.

the cool water of Mill Run.

We posed beneath an apropos sign.

Neighbors displayed fun works of art.

Our very comfortable seats in the shade,
along a cool stream near Youghiogheny Lake.
The flying bugs finally chased us back to Kelly VI.

This cute table, chairs and mailbox
are set up for the wee people.

Murph stuck his face into
this shot to show the wee size.
One neighbor had a terrific garden.

This fellow was at a nearby store.

Tiny church and cemetery above Mill Run.

The fireflies were thick across the meadow
near our campsite.

Our campsite was terrific.
