Tucson, AZ

I'm enjoying winter in Arizona.  Lots of hikes, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, free campsites, and excellent bike trails here in Tucson.  My only disappointment is that I'll skip Cactus Baseball as the Covid-based prices are too much for me (over $100.00 a seat).  That's the main reason I left Phoenix.

There are Loads of great murals in Tucson.

I took a REAL bike ride, my first over 20 miles
since Oct 19th.  Of course, I need to be
doing 4 or 5 of these every week.
The highlight was riding over the Rattlesnake Bridge.
Zoom in on the photo to see my bike in the snake's mouth.

This was a terrific hike in
the mountains west of Tucson.

Bike Ride!

I love maps, charts, and geography, so this
world map at a local school caught my eye.
FINALLY! I got back on my bicycle!  It's been two months since my last ride, but I'm hoping to do a lot more cycling.

Galus in Scottsdale

Tim and I swapped stories and
solved the world's problems as
we enjoyed Cousin's lobster sandwiches.
Today was special as I visited with a colleague of mine from many years ago.  We worked in his Colorado territory including business in Vail and Breckinridge.

Hiking Buckeye

AZ Sunset
A longer hike today with lots of saguaro pics.  Camped at Buckeye BLM, southwest of Phoenix.

Looking north from the peak, see my RV?

You have to zoom to see it, but that's
my RV in the red circle, about 2 miles away.

From the peak, a panoramic view, Click.

Facing east

I zigged & zagged to get
close to these lovely giants.

The topo app says the peak was at
1020 ft above sea level.
