PA and IN

On the drive to PA the trees shared great colors in eastern WV, & western MD.  If only the sun contributed, the colors would have been brilliant!  Meanwhile the grey skies brought snow flurries crossing western MD & southwestern PA.

At Lake Arthur, Moraine SP, Murph
enjoys a beverage in his DHBoss cup.
(DHBoss: Davis Hollow Boat Owners Society)

While Murph enjoyed bike rides in
the park, this ride along the
Butler-Freeport trail was his longest.

10/13 in Pittsburgh is
Mazeroski Day.

Sunset in Evans City, PA

Back in Indiana, Rany and I joined frat
brother, Steve and his wife at the local
Greek's Pizzeria in Franklin.
Observing the America's Cup on TV
was a huge surprise to me!

Brenda and Steve

It was a pleasant surprise to see that Steve &
Brenda still had a copy of this old newsletter
from 1974 which had an article about my
longest bicycle ride.

Sunset enroute Franklin to C'ville.

Randy and I took another trip to visit
the Avon American Legion Post and
this fun restaurant, the Mayberry Cafe, with
all things about Mayberry, Andy, Opie & Barney.

This trip was loads of fun as we visited "Hog" Hanner,
seated to the left.  Hog is a fraternity brother, Cathie was
a high school classmate of Hog and a
neighbor of Randy, standing on the right.  Murph, seated.

Hog, rightfully proud of his father, displays this photo
which is about four feet square, on the outside wall of
his law office in Rockville, IN.

Our route from C'ville to breakfast in Wallace,
lunch in Rockville, and drinks at the Legion with Hog.
UPDATE:  Unfortunately, Hog suffered a fatal heart attack
about a month after this wonderful visit.

Several Greek's franchises dot Indiana. The one
in C'ville celebrates the high school .  .  .

.  .  .  And the Wabash College Little Giants!

Larry, Craig, Steve, Randy and I got together for a
fun afternoon at Top Golf, Indianapolis.

Randy and I tried a new-to-us spot in C'ville.  All good!

Boat Show 2022

Most of the show is set up
by Wednesday evening.
Boat Show!  It has been almost thirty years since I attended my first US Sailboat Show in Annapolis, MD.  Since 2015, my appearance at the show has been due to my helping a great friend, Harry, as his one-man IT operation requires a helper to enable his clients' computers to operate at the show.  Harry has numerous clients and their booths all have to be operational by the opening of the show on Thursday morning.  Since he can't begin to set up until Tuesday morning, a lot has to be done in a very short time.  Thankfully, the job has become easier as very few wires must be run these days, unlike 10 years ago.  At this year's show all of Harry's clients access their systems via the internet, which he establishes via wireless networks.

This marina is a temporary marina.  The show host,
Annapolis Boat Shows, builds this 300 boat marina,
uses it for two weeks, then dismantles it until next year.

Harry's office, once the work is done.
Well, all except a few phone calls. 😊

Great friend and former
Pittsburgher, Noel, now
lives in Annapolis and
is an active volunteer for
several causes.

As all the show work was done, on Saturday
we took a side trip to the RAR Brewpub, Cambridge, MD.

On the way home, we were waylaid
by another brewery,
Ten Eyck Brewing Company.

Harry and Cable invite me to
join them for a nice hike.

This colorful mushroom caught my eye,

Boat Show!

This is the huge crew from the Moraine Sailing Club in
attendance at the 2022 USSS.

Captain Sean and his Admiral, Anita.

Since many MSC boat owners sail Catalina Yachts, we
were invited to join their party.

Sharon Day, in the light blue pantsuit,
President of Catalina Yachts, with the MSC crew.

Celebrating after another successful show.
