Rodeo Parade

Tucson's Rodeo Parade is known as the "World's Largest Non-Motorized Parade."

All the floats are pulled by animals, mostly horses, or the participants walk or ride horses.

Given the number of animals,
pooper scoopers are evident in the Parade.

At the end of the Parade, the street cleaners
perform a cleanup run behind the Parade.

Afterwards, we enjoyed a
terrific lunch at a local, truly
Mexican restaurant in South Tucson.

On the way back to camp, this trail beckoned.

Large numbers of saguaro cacti were a big attraction.

Tucson Hockey

The Roadrunners are Tucson's hockey team, playing in the AHL.  As a hockey fan, I enjoy watching the game often so took advantage of a Roadrunner home stand.

I liked this old ad for a western hat
on display in a local breakfast restaurant.

This cool mural is on the wall at the
Tucson Convention Center
where the Roadrunners play.

Number "5", Kerr, is a local councilman who was a
big fan and also responsible for bringing
the Roadrunners to Tucson in 2016.

The "Roadrunner" is a great mascot!

Earlier in the day I enjoyed a
great bicycle ride along
the Santa Cruz River.

Return to Tucson

This chair is made of bottle caps!
An art show was underway in Tucson when I returned.  We enjoyed the wide variety of local art, imported art, and unique artifacts.  A walk across the Luis Guterriez Bridge proved most interesting.

The Guterriez Bridge is immediately
noteworthy due to the flying,
steel, shadow-casting, overhead sun shades.
For more pictures about this bridge, Click Here.

The sun shines through the railroad spike creating
an image that is only seen once a year
on March 20th at 8:30am.

This spider welded from spikes and horseshoes
was mounted at Tiny's where we
stopped for happy hour.

At sunset we headed to Fred's Area Steakhouse.

Our steaks are grilling.

The live music was fun.  Good tunes played well,
although they might still be working on vocal improvement. 😊

A two minute sampling of the band.
