Mogollon Rim, AZ

This is the view from near our campsite on the
top of the Mogollon Rim, high above Arizona
to the south of here.

Arizona is HOT in June, especially Tucson, so Jada and I met in Phoenix and proceeded immediately to the Mogollon Rim and higher elevations to achieve cooler weather, especially for sleeping comfortably.

I'm trying Frontier's Go Wild Pass for
the first time.  If it works out well this year,
I may renew it for next year.  It seems
I'll need at least three trips to
make it worthwhile.

We visited a few different lakes in the area.

Views from the Mogollon Rim can be dramatic as you
stand on rock overhangs!

We kayaked on Willow Springs Lake.

Our view from our campsite in the Apache National Forest.

The red dot is our campsite on
the Mogollon Rim.  The contour lines
highlight just how steep the Rim gets.

We did spend a couple nights at hotel in
Phoenix to avoid the heat near the airport.
