Conch shells in the Conch Republic. |
Our second full day in Key West we wandered the streets, enjoyed several galleries and museums and absorbed the ambiance that is Key West.
The best photos were taken by Jada.
The roosters run wild all over the island, even in the city yards and streets. |
Jada, with Cuba only 90 miles behind her. |
Several pubs have dollar bills and bras adorning the walls and ceilings. This is Capt. Tony's Saloon on Greene St. "The Oldest Bar in FLA." |
Mile Zero. The southern end of US Route 1. Everyone in the Keys marks their location by the nearest mile marker. For example, Bahia Honda is at Mile 38. |
Sipping a drink at the Green Parrot seemed required during a Key West trip. |
The art work on this bicycle caught Jada's eye. Looking closely, you'll see the sea turtle. |
Doesn't she make that marker look great! |
As the sun approached the horizon, we made our way to Mallory Square. |
Murph enjoys the street shows and vendors. |
The next day was focused on visits to the Hemmingway House & Museum and the Tennessee Williams Museum. Even so, sights like this house grab the eye. |
The Hemmingway Museum was terrific. |
