Danube River Cruise, August 28 - September 10, 2019

Prague, Czech Republic, August 29 - September 1, 2019

Prague
Karen and I began our plans for this European river cruise a year ago.  To review the entire trip, scroll to the bottom and click for a "Newer Post".
Contrasting art with classic building

Originally we expected this would be our only big trip of 2019.  Boy, were we wrong!  Before we knew it all the previous trips posted appeared on our calendar: Asheville; Columbus; Denmark, Germany, & Portugal for Karen; Pittsburgh & Annapolis for Murph; Alabama; Missouri; D.C.; and Bloomsburg.  Finally our european departure date was upon us and we boarded our Lufthansa flight for Praha, Czechia via Frankfurt.  We almost missed our Prague flight in Frankfurt due to a tight connection and delays getting through customs (and a required coffee stop??), but I was able to run ahead, then dawdle at the gate long enough for Karen to catch up.  I knew we were in trouble when the gate agent asked if I was boarding the plane or staying behind with Karen.  Fortunately, she arrived a moment later and we landed in Prague on schedule (NOT Early).   :-)

We loved Prague.  The old town is a huge pedestrian city with block after twisting block of ornate buildings hundreds of years old with scattered statues and monuments dating from the first millenium to post-communism.  The Czechs are rightfully proud of their pilsners and lagers.  We tasted several and all were excellent.
