Regensburg, Germany, September 1-2, 2019

Karen waving from our cabin aboard the Monarch Empress on the Danube
Due to low water in the Danube, our cruise started many miles downstream of the planned embarkation point, Regensburg.  Our boat was moored at Vilshofen, Germany, but the cruise company made arrangements to assure very little disruption to our experience.  Our bus from Prague delivered us to the boat, Monarch Empress, to check-in, as planned.  Everything on board was as expected and wonderful, especially the food as we enjoyed a Welcome Aboard dinner.

On Monday, as the boat was in Vilshofen, we boarded buses to enjoy our tour of ancient Regensburg, so we didn't miss anything but traded a river trip for a bus trip.  The bus was faster, but the cruise would have been at night, so this change was no bother at all.
