Just south of Secret Beach was this double natural bridge. |
What a terrific day! The beaches in southwest Oregon have so many features like offshore islands, creeks crossing the sand, small skittering birds, large floating terns and more colors of stars, wild looking shellfish and even multiple natural bridges.
There was an easy parking area at the trailhead for the natural bridges. |
Along the trail. |
Whaleshead Beach |
Whaleshead Beach is no secret, as there is a resort along the road above the beach and a road that leads to a good parking area. |
Mussels as big as your hand . . . |

As the shorebound waves sweep
around these rock islands at Whaleshead Beach,
they cross each other at right angles.
creating this amazing visual.
The afternoon found us at Loeb SP on the Chetco River. It was a beautiful drive to the park, following the river. |
This really cool tree stump carving graced the lawn of the RV Park. |
Jada's rig, "Belly" and "Nellie". |
There was plenty of driftwood for folks to enjoy a fire on the beach. |
Sunset at Brookings Harbor |
The Brookings visit wrapped up with a fun concert in the park. |
