IN to TX

My Boondocker Welcome Host near
Obion, TN takes a pic of each of their guests.
This is the shot they caught of me
(I thought my shirt was a
Mercator projection, not a globe🙂).
They make videos of their RV travels
at DownTheRoadWeGo - YouTube.
Sunday I bid farewell to my hosts in Franklin, Steve and Brenda, then pointed Kelly VI, my RV, towards Evansville, IN.  This would be my first stop enroute to Keller, Texas.  Kim Koch, a friend from college days and fellow traveler, hosted me for a brief overnight in his driveway.  The next morning, I was on my way further south towards Keller where I plan to spend some time with a great friend and former roommate when we were in our young twenties in New Castle, PA.

Kelly VI's route included stops in Evansville, IN,
Obion, TN, Lonoke, AR and New Boston, TX.

Lonoke, AR

Boondocker Welcome Host near New Boston, TX.

A beautiful spot at the Candy Cane Corral.
The rig behind me is owned by Andrew and Jamie
fellow full-time RVers who invited me to help
them at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Much further south than central Indiana,
I'm back in my favorite uniform:
T-shirts, shorts, sandals.

In Texas, my roommate from 1980, Bill on the far left,
joined me and Wabash buddies for the big game,
the 128th competition for the Monon Bell.
Fought between the dainty dannies of Depauw University &
the Little Giants of my Wabash College, telecast parties
pop up all over the country.  This one was in Dallas, TX.
In addition to Derek, his sister, & Delt brother Kip,
a friend from the 1776 Commander-in-Chief's Guard,
Jim Ashbaugh, was also in attendance.
Jim & I last saw each other in 1975, when he graduated.

While the Wabash team had several stellar moments,
it wasn't nearly enough as the Tigers of Depauw
dominated the game and the outcome.

As I spent most of my life in PA near
Pittsburgh, this U-Haul truck
struck a chord with me.

Roanoke, TX is a cool little town not far from Keller.

On Steeler Sundays, Bill and I dressed in support of our team.

Although the Steelers aren't having their best
year, they won on Nov 28th vs the Indy Colts.

I took a walk or bike ride most days in Keller.

Many more walks than bike rides,
as I had to ride my bike on
almost every street!
