Niagara Falls

We walked across the Rainbow Bridge into
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.
Another bucket list item for Jada was seeing Niagara Falls.  We settled Kelly VI at a Boondockers Welcome host in Lewiston, NY just north of Niagara Falls, NY and across the Niagara River from Queenston, ON.  Our host and new friend let us know about several wonderful facts and places in the local area, including that local merchants sponsored a free, step on-step off, transit shuttle so we could leave Kelly VI parked in Lewiston and still see the sights.  Not having to find parking for Kelly VI was a huge win!

The shuttle dropped us in Niagara Falls, NY Near the Rainbow Bridge.

All the better shots on this post are Jada's.

Our selfie with the American Falls

Canada's Horseshoe Falls are a powerful,
dramatic site.  The crest line of the Horseshoe Falls is
approximately 670 metres wide (2,200 feet),
the American Falls about 260 metres (850 feet) and
the Bridal Veil Falls about 15 metres (50 feet).
Data per an internet search dated July 18, 2016.

This image shows how the Horseshoe Falls have
come to their present shape.

the Horseshoe Falls and the mist.

We spent the entire day walking about the Canadian side
including this view of the power/hydro station above
the Horseshoe Falls.

Outflow from the power/hydro station.

The original power station, this is now closed,
probably condemned, as it is fenced in.

Our luncheon view.

Jada's wine flight at our late lunch, and my beer on the left.

Jada's favorite!

And the rainbow from the mist!  Why it's called
the Rainbow Bridge!

Statue honoring Nikola Tesla, designer
and engineer for the original power station.

Murph recently read a biography of Tesla.

Murph enjoys the incline railways, so
we HAD to ride the one here!  😊

Why it's called the Rainbow Bridge!
This view is from the top of the incline railway.

Waiting for our dinner reservation,
Murph enjoyed a nice single malt scotch
with an ice sphere, Not a cube.

Jada's wine.

It was "Happy Hour!"  And we are!
Murph thought the mushroom shape of
the ice sphere, as it melted,
was interesting.

Fancy concrete in Niagara Falls, ON.

Good tunes enjoyed while waiting for our dinner reservation.

Our dinner reservations were for
the restaurant at the top.
