This Zippo automobile was built decades ago and remodeled recently so it looks brand new. It sits in front of the museum in Bradford, PA. |
Another bucket list item for Jada was seeing Niagara Falls. Although a bit out of the way, we decided to visit Murph's friend in St. Mary's, PA, then drive north over hill and dale into New York State to our Boondockers Welcome site in Lewiston, NY. The route took us through Bradford, PA and the home of Zippo Lighters and Case Cutlery. The museum there proved interesting in ways we did not foresee.
The better photos on this post were taken by Jada.
Our drive from Evans City, PA took us through Brady's Bend, East Brady, PA and the Brady's Bend Overlook there. It is a dramatic site where the Allegheny River creates a peninsula that is almost an island. The Overlook stands at 1340 feet of elevation above the river at 830 feet above sea level. We were looking down 510 vertical feet, almost a sheer cliff!

This "lighter" was as tall as I am! But not for sale. 😊

This American flag is built exclusively from Zippppo lighters. |

As a sailor and America's Cup fan, I couldn't resist this. |

We didn't see this until after the photo above. |

Having arrived in western NY, we were "required" to enjoy "Beef on Weck." |

Our view of the Niagara River at Lewiston, NY just south of Youngstown and Lake Ontario. That's Canada across the river and Niagara Falls is only a few miles south of here. |

The Silo in Lewiston, NY is where we enjoyed our meal on the river. |
