Tumble off the Bike!

After our leisurely drive across Florida's panhandle, we found our way to our Harvest Host location on a farm south of Dothan, Alabama yet still in Florida.  Jada loved all the critters on the farm and caught a few of them on "film."
We had a pleasant overnight at the "Moonpie Farm" then continued north to a Harvest Host spot featuring domestic bison.
This beautiful scene was ours to enjoy as we
walked about the boondocker's property.

Bama Bison campsite
Although we never found our human hosts, we had no trouble following their directions to our camping spot and enjoyed an evening hike around a pond on the property.  Our stay was quiet and comfortable and we did see a few bison in a distant field.
These sculptures were at the
trailhead park as we stopped
enroute to ride the Chattahoochee
Valley Railroad Trail.

This old brick plant was at the railhead park.
This colorful carousel wasn't working during our ride,
yet the local kids must love it when it is running.
As we approached the furthest
point from the trailhead,
near "Hills Island" on this map,
Jada's bike dropped Jada to the ground
where her helmet kept her head from
hitting the asphalt.  She immediately
got up, pulled her bike off the road
and laughed off the event.
She's a trooper!🚴👍

Our Harvest Host this evening was a brewery.
Murph was happy!
We passed this well maintained mural on our walk before dinner.

Jada provided a wonderful, most welcome dinner.
All prepared in the minimal galley of Kelly VI.

One of many interesting displays
in the Beacon Brewery.

Our last campsite for this trip was outside Atlanta
with a Boondockers Welcome host.  While not a farm,
they still had numerous animals on the property.

Jada made great friends with the locals!
After a couple evenings and a nice walk
around the neighborhood,
Kelly VI and I left Jada at the Atlanta Airport
for her return flight to Arizona.

Small Town Florida

Our trip to the airport was planned to be a lazy drift northeast towards the Atlanta Airport.  The path took use eastward into Florida where we spent a grey day enjoying the small town and rural lifestyle.

All the best photos here were taken by Jada.

First stop for a hike in the woods.

Enroute to our next stop.

Defuniak Springs, FL.  Once a most popular resort
visited by folks via train. For a video of this large pond, Click Here.

These fellows & gals walked about as if they owned the place!

You could tell Christmas is approaching.

These swimmers seemed to enjoy the cool water.

Flora-Bama

One evening we visited Flora-Bama, the pub and music venue.  The performers were enjoyable and many tunes were terrific renditions of well known songs.  As the name indicates, this locale is directly on the Florida/Alabama state line.

Keith Otto is a great friend so this caught my eye.
As far as I know, he's never been here!

Jada at Keith's seat.

The ladies' wear is a notable indication that you're at Flora-Bama.

Jada's beverage for the evening,
Flora-Bama's famous "Bushwacker."

It was a terrific evening!
