Gulf State Park, AL

Pier at sunset, Gulf State Park, Alabama
Our southernmost stop before taking Jada to the airport was Gulf State Park, Gulf Shores, Alabama.  It's impossible for Jada to enjoy too much water!  The beaches and ponds here were a major attraction.

All the best photos on this page were taken by Jada.

As our last stay was a bit east of today's
destination, we briefly drove through
the Florida panhandle .  .  .

.  .  .  Before re-entering Alabama.
Our dinner spot as we approached our campground.

The ambience in certainly "down home."
And it's the home of "Throwed Rolls!"

Foley, AL home to Lambert's "Throwed Rolls."

Gulf Shores, AL home to Gulf State Park.

A major reason to camp here was the
excellent system of trails, most suitable
for bicycles.

The trails included many boardwalks to enable
pedestrian and bike travel over and through
the swamps and dunes.

Map of the park and trails.

A major trail, boardwalk and overpass
led us to the beach!

This oversize six-legged creature also crossed our path.
