Alabama!

Jada and Therese

Our road trip continued south into Alabama where Jada visited a great friend that she regularly corresponds with, yet hasn't seen in years.  It was a terrific visit in northern Alabama and a wonderful commencement to the 'Bama leg of our journey.

All the best photos on this page were taken by Jada.

Jada and Therese stop their chat and walk
just long enough for this photo.

A beautiful day for a wonderful walk with friends!

Our walk along the Madison County Nature Trail.

Interesting trees in Madison County!
Another Madison County unique tree.
Never saw these large green groundcover up north.

Scenes from the roads and roadsides in Alabama.

Classic 'Bama BBQ, this is NOT a chain store!

Above our table in Bush's Bar-B-Que.
The meal was delicious!
Our Boondocker Site in central Alabama.
Our host made us feel right  at home,
especially their friendly animals!

This was a terrific spot, sad to only have
one night to spend with these wonderful hosts.

Check the warm welcome from the big guy, at 0:04!

This water tower in southern Alabama
as we neared our destination for a
couple days.  We never did learn
what all those lines are doing.
Kelly's home for a couple days, outside Dozier, AL.
That's a sizable garden fenced in many yards behind Kelly.

Our Boondocker Host gave us these
goodies fresh from their garden.
We ate very well in Alabama.

We took an evening walk around the property
catching a beautiful sunset and some wildlife.

This tree stand was towering over
the walking path .  .  .

.  .  .  and seemed to be overlooking this grain bin for feeding the deer.
As the hunters already have significant advantage,
it seemed disappointing to also use bait.  I generally
support hunting and hunters, yet this seems to reduce the sporting aspect.

And Jada caught these two deer in motion!

Broad expanse in this pastoral scene along our walk.

If you're willing to climb this deer stand,
you've earned your deer!

Across the road from our parking spot.

Our spot for two nights in rural Alabama.

Our walks around the property outside Dozier, AL.
