That's Chicago seen across the southern bight of Lake Michigan, from the national Lakeshore |
This is a great place for anyone to visit and has special meaning for Murph as he used to come here as a young child with his family when they visited second cousins in Chesterton, IN just a few miles south. There was no National Lakeshore at that time, but there was a public beach where we all could ride the waves, just like the ocean but No Salt & No Sharks!
On our way north, we spent the night at a Harvest Host, the Hunt Club Distillery in Sheridan, IN. |
This view from the top of the dunes is well over 100 vertical feet above the beach. |
That's Jada at the top of the dune in the red circle. |

We were impressed by the birds flying in and out
of the holes in that cliff of sand.
