We followed US Route 6, a lovely track through rural northern Indiana and Ohio.

Ohio was merely on our way to Pennsylvania, but even as just a waypoint we enjoyed travelling through.

Renting kayaks on Presque Isle, we enjoyed a wonderful paddling trip. |

When we paddled into Marina Lake this sailboat was anchored there. Murph recognized that this was a cruising vessel, so we chatted with the owners to find they're heading across Lake Erie for waters beyond . . . . |

There is a community of houseboats, actual homes, floating in a small cove off the main bay, that were grandfathered and remain in the state park. |

The beaches on Presque Isle, like Lake Michigan, are just like the ocean except, No Salt, No Sharks! 😊 |

The lighthouse is 150 years old and is still an official aid to navigation, lighting the land that juts furthest into the lake. |

The midwest vacation proved to be a terrific time. |
