Indiana Vacation

A hike along the Sugar Creek Trail was
our first activity after the Big 'Bash.
June 5-8, 2022

Sugar Creek is a major waterway across Indiana which has thousands of folks enjoying its waters every summer.  From swimming and tubing (just floating, no powerboats required) to kayaking and canoeing, it is very popular with locals and visitors alike.
The parking area also provides creek access
for canoes & kayaks.
The trail is also a great cycling path as
much of it is paved smooth.

As grizzlies are rare in Indiana,
we decided this post was as much for
fun as preparedness.

This abandoned power pole now
supports a birdhouse.

I find positive benefits from
Scouting almost everywhere.

The bridge over Sugar Creek provides
excellent views.

We spent one night boondocked at a rural home
between Lebanon and C'ville.
Our hosts were "Nomads" for the Methodist Church.

Monday evening we enjoyed a wonderful meal with
the newlywed Murphy's, Patrick & Kylee, in Naptown.

Bless, O Lord, this creature beer, which thou hast produced
from the fat of grain.

The St. Joseph Brewery

As she'd never been there, we drove around
Monument Circle, downtown Indy.

The buildings actually follow the curve of the circle!

The satellite view shows the curved buildings.

Sugar Creek Campground was our next destination
as they rent canoes and kayaks.

Our campsite had a wonderful view of the creek.
Jada enjoyed the swing including a terrific jump,
until she landed.  It seems we're
not as young as we once were.  😕
Kayaking was wonderful in
the warm weather.

This island below the bridge provided
a fun spot to stretch our legs.

June 8th we made our way to Beanblossom,
one of my favorite Indiana names,
like Gnawbone!

Sunset at our campsite in Brown County SP,
after a wildly horrendous deluge of a thunderstorm!

The next day we played tourist in
Nashville, Indiana.  A great place to visit.

I loved how even the toilet paper is rustically provided!

This large, metal sculpture of autumn leaves
in downtown Nashville caught our eye.
