Goji Castle |
The road from Gero to Goji was extremely challenging, winding and twisting up and down terribly steep mountainsides. We were thrilled that youthful Tsukasa was our accomplished driver.
All the best photos were taken by Jada.

The roadway from town to the castle climbed an extremely steep and challenging hill. |
It was several stories tall and we climbed to the top! |
Impressive displays like this samurai armor, made good excuses to stop and rest as we climbed the heights. |
The view was worth the climb! You can see part of the switchback road that we travelled into the town of Goji. |
As we saw on many Japanese roofs, especially the castles, there were interesting and intricate icons or sculpted pieces at the roof corners. For more Roof Icons, Click Here. |

Fun photo op in the castle foreyard. |

Some foods were new-to-us, like these grilled fish. Actually, I enjoyed these on my first trip to Japan in January 2006 when Takashi took my Mother, Paul (my son) & I to Takayama for a winter festival. |
Pork and beef were available to be grilled as well. |
As expected, Murph went for the ice cream! Some new flavors were available, like green tea! Murph stuck with vanilla and chocolate. |
A beautiful sunset followed us home. |
