Although Jada is no fan of seafood, she tried everything set before her. More than I can say for myself as I enjoyed all the seafood, some more than others, yet I still skipped some of the pickled veggies & a couple of less-than-appetizing items. All the best photos were taken by Jada.

Jada's dumplings (she loves these!) at our first meal on Himakajima immediately after deboarding the ferry.
My dessert after our first Himakajima meal? Ice cream, of course!
We were welcomed every breakfast and dinner into our own private dining room at the hotel.
The settings were impressively lavish for every meal.
This dish had what we first thought was a pale, white pasta . . .

. . . as we looked more closely, we discovered that this was actually a very small fish! See their eyes looking at you??!!??
Every meal!!
Often dishes were cooked over a flame right at the table. Just like Michiko served us in the Matsunaga home.
This was a very tasty fish . . .
. . . especially in Murph's mouth!
This abalone has a beautiful shell and was served fresh and Alive on the dish above the flame.
This shows how we cooked the abalone
before eating it. OK, Murph ate it all,
but Jada managed a bite. She is the
most adventurous!
The abalone shell is a rainbow of colors.
This is how the puffer fish is served. We understand this fish is poisonous yet they find a way to serve it safely. Of course, Jada tried it and Murph enjoyed it.

Although octopus/tako was NOT Jada's favorite, she tried it and even offered her portion to Murph! Scissors were provided to cut the rubbery tako.
