Rhode Island - July 3-8, 2020

Our drive from CT to our campsite in Burlingame SP, RI
Karen & I really enjoyed Rhode Island these past several days.  Karen was impressed how beautiful the state is and how it reminded her of her hometown, Annapolis, MD!

Wilcox Park in Westerly, RI includes a bench honoring Ruth Buzzi of Laugh-In fame.

The pic is from a 360* panorama.  Click Here.  You'll need to scroll through the photos to find the panorama which includes the bench and Karen!

A truly eclectic gift shop, The Imagine Gift Shop, in Warren, RI

Karen & I enjoyed our first restaurant experience since the virus at "The Wharf Tavern" in Warren.  To discover the culinary delight of a "Connecticut-style" lobster roll (thanks, George, for the tip), we had to move indoors where we were safely distanced from other tables and still had a nice view of Narragansett Bay. The pic is from a panorama that includes Karen.  Click Here.

We had a photo op with Mr. Potato Head at Hasbro.
I dropped my mask as Mr. Potato Head is immune.

We had fun finding interesting roadside displays.

A huge Scorpion marks the entrance to Exeter Scrap Metals in Exeter, Rhode Island.

Our campsite in Burlingame State Park was Huge and Pretty.

We cycled from the ferry parking to Point Judith Lighthouse,
then took the ferry to Block Island and pedaled a loop on the island.

Our bike ride took us to this beautiful view.
The view of Newport's Pell Bridge from Jamestown
where Kelly IV and I ended our 2011 sailboat cruise
out of the Great Lakes, the length of the
St. Lawrence Seaway, through the Maritimes
and into New England.

Newport's famous Cliff Walk had dramatic natural views and amazing "cottages" overlooking the cliffs and ocean.

"The Wave" in Newport.  You can see the feet!
