Carnegie Museums

Hall of Architecture, Carnegie Museum of Art.
As Jada had never been to Pittsburgh, Murph felt it was important for Jada to "see the sights."  As Pittsburgh has been around since before the Europeans and is a sizable city with many "sights," Jada picked the Carnegie Art Museum as a great place to start.

All the best photos here were taken by Jada.

We walked through the Cathedral of Learning,
center point of the campus of the
University of Pittsburgh where Murph
earned his MBA.

The main floor was a
good place to study,
in the early 1980s
when I was working
on my MBA, as the high ceilings
seem to absorb any sound.
There are numerous alcoves for small groups
to enjoy quiet conversation.

Each of the knobs was uniquely carved
and different from the others.

This sculpture of an individual using his phone
is a more recent addition to the Museum.

The Carnegie Museum of Natural History is
located in the same building as the Art Museum.
The Natural History Museum is known as
one of the world's best for dinosaurs.

This statue honors Thomas Starzl, MD
who was reknown for his medical
leadership in forwarding the
science of human organ transplants.
Murph actually met him briefly in
the elevator at Presbyterian Hospital
while Murph was selling
physician office computer systems.
