Day 53 Enroute to Kingman, AZ

West of Seligman several
Burma Shave signs sprouted.

Day 53, following old RT 66 from Seligman to Kingman, AZ.  So cool to trek the old road, especially as none of this stretch was on the interstate, in fact, I-40 was nowhere to be seen until I crossed under it at Kingman.

An entire day on the old Route 66 and NO Interstate!  😀

This rig is how folks first toured the caverns,
lowered on a rope, carrying a lantern!
The methods are more up to date now.

The vertical rocks crowning some of the desert buttes

The Hackberry General Store was Bob Waldmire's
when he was living. The current owners are
maintaining it in the same fashion which is Terrific!

This Ramada in Kingsman has more murals and Rt 66 focus than any one motel I've seen.
Even the pool has a Route 66 Shield!

Of the very many murals at the Kingman Ramada, this one is truly first class.

Another great mural, but so many,
you gotta see them for yourself! Or Click Here

There were hundreds of murals on almost every
surface of this hotel.  To see the many I took
