Day 29 Rt 66 to Texola, OK

The Timber Creek Bridge
east of Sayre, OK was built in 1928
and still supports my RV, no problem!
Day 29 & my first day driving over 100 miles on Historic Route 66 from Elk City, OK to Conway, TX.  More open spaces between sights and the trees were quite few and far between this afternoon.

The plaque says "Spirit of the West" 2007

This is an abandoned stretch of old 66 west of Sayre.

This beautiful home, east of Erick, OK was nicely
decorated for Christmas .  .  .

.  .  .  including a vintage truck with a Christmas tree at their gate.

This collection of windmill vanes was just west of the house.

The 100th Meridian Museum in Erick, OK is
housed in this building, but closed due to Covid.

There's no mistaking the famous "Sandhill Curiosity Shop"
in Erick, OK.

Harley displays his collection of curious items and I hear
that he'll play his guitar for you.
He doesn't charge anything, but accepts donations.
This is a closer look at his entrance.
Unfortunately for me, Harley wasn't open today.

Under the eaves it reads: "No Place Like Texola."

Closed to Covid.

Just west of Texola with
the Texas state line in sight.

The Texas state line is
where the road turns dark.
