Delt Fall Festival - November 1, 2020

Indiana sunrise before reaching Crawfordsville
My calendar showed more than enough time to head west to Indiana where I committed to help my college fraternity brothers set up our Delt Fall Festival.  In the past, and hopefully again in the future, we would have been cheering our Wabash Little Giants in the annual Monon Bell football game, but that was cancelled due to the virus.  Instead we're celebrating our survival, so far, of Covid and 2020 by gathering, while social distancing and masking.  We've decided to use a campground so it is easy to keep our distance, yet still see each other and catch up on each others' lives.  We had a nice turnout given that most folks wouldn't be able to travel during the pandemic, so most attendees arrived in their own vehicles.

The road disappears in the distance as the morning fog rolls in

In the days before the Delt Fall Festival began, Randy '77, chairman of the event, made the final arrangements.  This included food, firewood, campground, entertainment, outdoor games, etc. with help from his committee workers.  I'm recalling Jim, Hutch, Batch, Rob, Chuck and Gumby, were instrumental assisting Randy, but there are probably others.  Let me know in the comments below and I'll update this entry.

We held meetings late into the night!

I'm not certain if this is the same pizza joint
since it's at a different site, but
in September 1973, I spent many nights
(until I ran out of money)
enjoying a pizza & beer at Greek's
on Green Street with my fraternity brother, Paul.

This crew set up camp, including a trailer full of firewood.

As Wabash Delts started arriving, the jokes, stories and camaraderie commenced and didn't end until the last man left on Sunday.

Of dinner that night was at the beloved steak house.
